How We Got Here

  • June 13, 1921

    Began as Ott and Prados Public Accountants and Auditors

    Founded by Lionel Gordon Ott and Godfey Olivier Prados, who became the 13th and 14th CPAs in the State of Louisiana. In 1940, Ott was elected Louisiana State Senator and New Orleans Commission Council as Comissioner of Finance and was re-elected in 1950.

  • 1950

    Company changed to Ott, Prados, and Verlander Certified Public Accountants

    Richard G. Verlander became a CPA leading the company to gain its third partner.

  • 1980

    John Remy Busenelener became partner, changing the company's name to Verlander, Busenlener & Company.

    A few years later, Busenlener took sole partnership in the company changing the name to John R. Busenlener, CPA.

  • 1993

    Steven Johnson becomes partner.

    The firm name changes to Busenlener and Johnson, CPAs.

  • December 31, 2021

    Celebrating 100 Years of the Firm, Tyler Johnson joins the new partnership of J&J CPAs.

    Tyler Johnson joins Steven B. Johnson in the new partnership. Let's see what the next 100 years bring!
